Lucie's Journey as Practice Manager at Quedgeley House Dental Practice
My name is Lucie, and I have been the Practice Manager of Quedgeley House Dental Practice in Gloucester for 6 months now.
I started my journey as a dental nurse 8 years ago and recently transitioned into my first management position at the practice.
Despite the challenges that come with managing a dental practice, I have been loving every minute of it so far.
Overcoming Recruitment Challenges
Managing Quedgeley House Dental Practice has been a challenge due to the recruitment issues prevalent in the South. However, I have been fortunate to witness noticeable changes at the practice, including the successful recruitment of new staff members. None of these positive changes would have been possible without the incredible support I have received from everyone at Rodericks Dental Partners, especially my Business Development Manager, Lydia Milkins.
Gratitude for Support
I am grateful for the unwavering support I have received from various teams across Rodericks Dental Partners. The facilities team played a vital role in addressing maintenance issues at the practice, ensuring that everything was in optimal condition for our patients. Additionally, assistance from individuals in recruitment, HR, compliance, health and safety, learning & development, clinical recruitment, and IT has been instrumental in the smooth operation of the practice.
The Impact of Collaboration
Last week, I had the pleasure of working with Stacey Moore, Central Operations Manager to transform a surgery back into a functional working surgery for a new Dentist joining our team. Stacey generously dedicated her time to help me organise and clear out the built-up archiving, allowing us to get the surgery back up and running in a timely manner. This collaborative effort exemplifies the supportive and teamwork-driven culture at Rodericks Dental Partners.
Our Achievements in the Past 6 Months
Despite the challenges, the practice has undergone significant improvements. Our team is stronger than ever, and I am excited about the positive trajectory we are on. The diaries are filling up, white space has decreased, and revenue is on the rise. With team-building activities planned and a focus on further expansion, I am confident that Quedgeley House Dental Practice will continue to thrive.
As Practice Manager at Quedgeley House Dental Practice, I am committed to leading our team towards success and providing exceptional care to our patients. The support I have received from my colleagues and the positive changes we have implemented are a testament to our dedication at Rodericks Dental Partners excellence in dental care.
