Marwa's Path to Success: From Saudi Arabia to Achieving Her Dream with Rodericks Dental Partners

Life as a dentist in Saudi Arabia was fulfilling, but deep down, I always had a desire to practise in the UK. In 2023, I took a significant step towards that goal by passing the Part 1 LDS exam. 

Transitioning to UK dentistry presented daunting challenges. The process of bridging the gap between my qualifications and UK registration seemed complex and uncertain. I wasn't sure how to find the right opportunities. 

Then, just when I needed it most, a friend sent me a job advertisement for a trainee dental nurse position at Rodericks Dental Partners. It was an unexpected opportunity but offered a pathway into the UK dental field whilst I continued to pursue my qualifications. Rodericks Dental Partners not only provided this opening but also supported me by covering my LDS part 2 and 3 revision costs which will be refunded to me if I pass my exam first time —a crucial assistance that made the path to qualification much more manageable. 

The swift interview process with Rodericks Dental Partners was a testament to their commitment. Within three months, I relocated to the UK with my twin daughters and husband, and I started working as a trainee dental nurse. 

Relocating from Saudi Arabia was initially overwhelming. However, the practice manager at my new practice was incredibly supportive. She adjusted my working hours to help me settle in comfortably, and the entire team provided unwavering support. Their encouragement and guidance eased my doubts and fears about the move. 

Starting as a trainee dental nurse may seem unconventional, but for me, it's been the perfect stepping stone towards my dream of becoming a registered dentist in the UK. They funded my dental nursing course and ensured I had the resources to prepare for my part 2 exam, scheduled in the next few months.
