After growing up on the Wirral, I went on to qualify from the University of Liverpool with a first class degree in Radiology and completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at UCLan. Previously, I have worked in the Community Dental Service and continue to work for the Emergency Dental Service. As a dentist, I am an advocate of preventive and patient-focused care which is catered to individual needs.

I have always been interested in the latest techniques and technologies to make modern dentistry a more comfortable experience. I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry, whether it be to improve aesthetics, to reclaim function or to provide relief of pain for patients of all ages. I am committed to continuing education, especially in my areas of interest such including oral surgery and orthodontics.

Outside of dentistry, I spend a lot of time outdoors, whether it be cycling, swimming or training for the Berlin Marathon later this year.

Dr Dominic Higgins BDS (GDC No. 221203) Born and raised in the Wirral, Dom qualified from UCLan in 2011 as a graduate, after achieving a BSc in Human Anatomy and Cell Biology from the University of Liverpool in 2007. Following graduation, he completed a year as a Maxillo-Facial SHO at the Royal Preston, Blackpool Victoria and Chorley General Hospitals.

Since completing his foundation year here on the Wirral, Dom has strived to achieve the highest standards of dentistry. He has further training in tooth straightening (Orthodontics), Aesthetic dentistry and Facial Aesthetics treatments. Dom is now nearing the completion of his PG Cert in Aesthetic dentistry.

Away from surgery, Dom has a young family keeping him on his toes, but does find time to play a range of sports and he also coaches the U9s Vauxhall football team.

My name is Gemma and I’m your Dental Hygienist at Hamilton Square Dental. I started my career in dentistry whilst serving as a dental nurse in the Royal Air Force over 20 years ago and then went on to qualify as a Dental Hygienist at the University of Liverpool in 2006. After working in practices in Shropshire and the Wirral I then ventured down to London where over the past 13 years I have worked alongside specialist dentists treating and preventing gum disease and tooth decay. I firmly believe that having a healthy mouth is an essential part of having a healthy lifestyle. I am committed to providing you with valuable information about your oral health and preventing and treating gum disease.
