Meet our Team at The Dentist At Liberty Place

Amrutha was awarded Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2010 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India. She further specialized in Periodontics and obtained Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontics in 2014.

She relocated with her husband to the UK where she cleared the local registration exams and obtained registration with the General Dental Council in 2016. She completed her Foundation training (PLVE) at Nottingham and continued her dental training by obtaining MFD from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. Amrutha has been working as Associate Dentist with various practices across the West Midlands gaining broad range of experience and skills.

Amrutha’s special interest continues to be in Periodontics where she provides high quality treatment for complex and uncomplicated problems relating to the gums and bones surrounding the teeth. She is passionate about renewing her patient’s confidence and general improvement in oral hygiene.

Amrutha practices with an empathetic, caring and holistic approach. It is a common feedback that the most anxious patient feels at ease with her. She is now accepting referrals for all cases in Periodontics.

Amy joined The Dentist at Liberty Place in June 2020 after relocating to Birmingham. She brings 18 years of experience to the practice, having qualified in Bristol in 2002.

In 2014 Amy achieved further qualification of a Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a keen interest in adult tooth straightening (Invisalign, Inman Aligner, Cfast) and facial aesthetics. She was proud to be selected as a mentor to newly qualified dentists at a previous practice.

Carl Horton joined our team in 2017 as our in-house specialist Implant Dentist. Carl is passionate about dentistry and has travelled the world sharing his knowledge and lecturing extensively on treatment models and his pioneering research.

After graduating from Birmingham Dental Hospital in 1996 Carl worked predominately in private practices but went on to complete an MSc in Periodontology and Implantology. He now divides his time between multiple practices but joins our team regularly to work alongside our dentists offering dental implants and gum surgery; most of his work is scanned avoiding the need for impressions.

Colin has been providing caring dental care since qualification in 1998 and exclusively private care since 2000. Since 2000 Hannah and Colin have worked together closely on all aspects of dental care, this is because their ethos matches perfectly. They both strive to help each patient achieve the highest levels of oral health and tailor the treatment to suit each individual smile all provided with the maxim of gentle care. That winning combination of health and prevention together with aesthetics has helped The Dentist at Liberty Place go from strength to strength since its inception in 2006.

Colin always has his eye on the next big thing, whilst cautiously awaiting long term research. New services include Emdogain (the ability to regrow gum tissues lost due to wear and tear or disease) and the Inman Aligner (the removable and fast way to straighten the teeth without a fixed brace) These new services sit comfortably with the care already being offered; gum health treatments and diagnosis, healthy teeth, tooth straightening and Implants to replace what is missing.

Colin is a member of the British Dental Association, ITI member (International Team for Implantology), certified in Inman Aligner care and sectional fixed braces certified practitioner, Emdogain certified and GDC Registered.

Daniel qualified from Bristol University in 2002. Since graduating he has undergone specialist training at the Royal Shrewsbury, Princess Royal Telford, Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham Dental Hospitals. He has passed his MFGDP, MFDSRCS, MJDFRCS, M.Surg.Dent and ISFE post graduate examinations and has successfully completed his consultant training in Oral Surgery. Daniel has over 15 years experience in Oral Surgery and works as a consultant at the Birmingham Dental Hospital and is clinical lead for Oral Surgery at Sandwell General Hospital.

He teaches oral surgery to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and has widely presented and published on his specialist field both nationally and internationally. He places a great emphasis on ensuring his patients remain at ease and are comfortable whilst undergoing surgical treatment. Daniel is fully trained to provide treatment under sedation and has extensive experience in the management of nervous patients.

Hannah has worked in General Dental Practice full time since qualifying in 1993 from the Dental School of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Working together with Colin since meeting at Boots Dentalcare in 2000, The Dentist at Liberty Place has become firmly established in Birmingham as a provider of caring, quality, modern dental care.

Through regular continuing professional development, Hannah provides holistic dental care working with each individual patient to achieve a healthy confident smile. Hannah offers a full range of dental procedures from simple fillings through to state of the art smile makeovers. Since completing the International Team for Implantology Foundation in Implant Dentistry during 2010, Hannah places and restores implants to replace single or multiple missing teeth. The use of the Invisalign system has helped her transform smiles for many delighted patients.

Hannah is also a certified practitioner in facial aesthetic techniques including the use of wrinkle softening and dermal fillers to complement patients’ smiles. Having completed multiple training courses over the past 15 years, Hannah’s expertise in the field of discreet medical aesthetics treatments attracts patients from all over the country.

Hannah Clark is a member of the British Association of Private Dentistry, is Invisalign certified, a member of Dental Protection and is registered with the General Dental Council

Jose graduated in Lisbon, Portugal in 2010 with an integrated master degree in Dentistry and a published clinical trial master thesis.

There, he worked for a year before coming to the UK. In 2011 Jose moved to Birmingham where he has been practicing general dentistry which he still does to this day as the clinical lead.

In 2014 Jose took a short course in quick straight teeth and since then orthodontics became his number one passion in dentistry. From there he developed a special interest in orthodontics, taking multiple PGA and advanced clinical training in this field, including a PGA in Orthodontics at The City of London Dental School.

Hassan qualified from the University of Birmingham, school of Dentistry in 2013. Prior to working in dental practices, Hassan gained valuable experience in a variety of dental specialities including the maxillo-facial department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. During this time, he was awarded the prestigious Diploma of Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Hassan has extensive experience in cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry, and was a clinical dental teacher at the University of Birmingham for many years. He has achieved a Master of Science degree in dental implantology from the University of Central Lancashire. He has also completed many recognised post-graduate courses including a two-year programme in aesthetic and restorative dentistry with the Dominic Hassall Training Institute in Birmingham and a year-long programme with the Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology. Hassan has a special interest in the use of dental implants to help patients rebuild their confidence and achieve smiles that they can be proud of. Whether it is a single space or a full mouth, Hassan ensures robust treatment planning is performed from the outset with the use of the latest technology in order to achieve the very best outcomes.

Sam joined our team as a dental nurse in 2007 and has worked her way up to becoming the practice manager. She has helped our practice to grow.

Sam has experience as a specialist nurse and is a qualified oral health provider. Sam is kind and gentle and is always a hand to hold during your treatment.

Vishal graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011, and then completed his vocational training in Shropshire. During this time he worked predominately within the NHS and built his passion for dentistry in particular Endodontics. After attending many courses he soon decided he would like to focus on his interest in Endodontics and so decided to study for a Masters of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Endodontology, working alongside some of the best Endodontists in the UK. His studies were designed to help him on this pathway to become an expert in Root Canal Treatment.

Vishal has now limited his practice to endodontics to focus on his passion. He believes in a caring style to treating his patients and thoroughly believes in putting patients interests first. He has established a good working relationship with many colleagues within the midlands to give patients a multi skilled experience during their treatment.
