Meet our Team at Apex Street Dental Practice

Michelle Burrows Diploma Dental Hygiene RCS Edinburgh 2006. Michelle has worked in dentistry for over 20 years. She started training as a dental Nurse in the Royal Air Force in 2000 then went onto do her hygiene training in Aldershot in 2004. She left the RAF in 2015,since then she has continued to work as a hygienist in the local area and here with us at Apex Dental every Wednesday.

Dr Vasilev DDM Sofia Medical University in 2000. He has over 20 year’s experience originally from Bulgaria where he managing his own solo practice for 10 years. Since 2011 he has settled and lived in the beautiful countryside of Somerset and has helped NHS and private practices in the county. Dr Vasilev now works as a general private dentist with us at Apex Dental in Street. He has a special interest in endodontics and is passionate about providing his patients with the highest possible quality of care. Member of the British Dental Association and the British Endodontic Society.

Dr. Umar Hamid is a highly skilled and dedicated dentist with 20 years of experience in Oral Surgery. He obtained his qualification in 2002 from Pakistan and pursued advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery across reputable hospitals and trusts in the UK, including Manchester, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Nottinghamshire.

With a fellowship in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a fellowship in Oral Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Dr. Hamid demonstrates his expertise in the field. He has served as a Specialty Doctor in Oral Surgery at King’s College Hospital in London over the last 11 years. In this role, he actively contributed to the teaching and training of junior dentists, specialty registrars, and young consultants. He has been a dedicated clinical teacher for BDS year 4 and year 5 students at Kings College London. He has recently joined Practise Plus Group Hospitals in Bristol and Devizes as an associate Oral Surgeon.

Driven by his commitment to excellence, Dr. Hamid pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education from the University of Bedfordshire. Furthermore, he has completed the post graduate diploma in Oral Implantology at the University of Bristol and is on his way towards completion of the MSc. His specialist clinical interest lies in medication-related Osteonecrosis of the Jawbone.

Dr. Hamid has made notable contributions to the field of Oral Surgery through his publications in reputable journals ,clinical audits and presentations in professional platforms. Apart from his professional pursuits, he is a proud father to two girls and enjoys running and playing cricket.
