Alastair graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2023 and completed his foundation training with us at Hurlfield. After enjoying his time with us, Alastair is now an associate! Alastair aims to make every appointment as comfortable as possible for patients. In his spare time, he enjoys watching football, drumming, and the outdoors.

Claire qualified from Sheffield University in 2010 and has also completed courses in foundation Botox and filler as well as an anterior composite course. Joseph provides general dentistry and is committed to building lasting relationships with his patients. Claire is enjoying developing her skills with courses and more private treatments, in particular Invisalign. Claire enjoys spending time with her patients and getting a more aesthetic result, making private treatments great for her. Outside of work, Claire is a part of the Sheffield Down Syndrome group and enjoys going on holiday and spending time with her family and friends.

Emily graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2021 and started her career in Sheffield where she completed her foundation training. Following this she has completed further training at Manchester Dental Hospital where she has gained a wide range of experience working across multiple dental specialities including oral surgery, oral medicine and specialist care. When not at work, Emily enjoys spending a lot of her free time in the peak district. She also loves Pilates and spending time with her family and friends.

Emily is a dedicated dentist who has 19 years of experience at the practice. Emily enjoys individualising treatment plans that are tailored to each patients needs. Emily has a wealth of experience in treating nervous patients and getting patients out of pain. Emily takes joy in providing cosmetic treatments and helping people feel confident in their smiles. Emily is also an education supervisor here at Hurlfield for our younger dentists. In Emily’s spare time she loves to spend time with her children, watch football and being active.

Emma qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2010 and, following her foundation year, completed 2 years of hospital dentistry in oral surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Emma started working at Hurlfield in 2013 and enjoys all aspects of clinical dentistry. Emma has previously taught undergraduates at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and continues to be an Educational Supervisor for Foundation Dentists in practice.

James qualified from Sheffield University in 2010 and has since worked in mixed NHS and private practices in Sheffield and London. James enjoys keeping up to date with current evidence-based practice. In 2016, he completed the postgraduate examinations to become a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, as well as attending the Royal College of Surgeons’ diploma in restorative dentistry. James is currently enrolled in an advanced course in cosmetic dentistry and aesthetic restorative dentistry. Outside of work, James is a keen skier, enjoys travelling, and loves walking in the peaks with his dog.

About: Joseph qualified from the University of Leeds in 2015; after completing dental foundation training, he has worked as a dental associate at the practice since 2016. Joseph provides general dentistry and is committed to building lasting relationships with his patients. Along with general dentistry, Joseph provides Invisalign Go, tooth whitening, and composite bonding for those patients who are seeking aesthetic improvements to their teeth and smiles. Outside of dentistry, Joe is a keen cyclist and runner; he also enjoys listening to live music and going to concerts and festivals.

Josephine graduated from the University of Leeds with a BchD in Dentistry in 2008, following her BSc in Human Biology, which she completed in Liverpool. 

After finishing her vocational training year in Bradford, she moved to the south of England and worked in dental practices in Surrey whilst completing her MJDF (membership of the joint dental faculties) postgraduate qualification, before advancing her career as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This role enhanced her surgical skills and broadened her experience.

She then transitioned back into general dental practice, initially working in private practice before moving to a mixed NHS and private setting. In 2017, Josephine relocated to Sheffield to be closer to her family and has since been part of the team at Hurlfield Dental Practice. She enjoys all aspects of clinical dentistry and is known for her calm, reassuring approach that helps put patients at ease.

Kevin was the first foundation dentist to start at Hurlfield after qualifying at Sheffield University in 2004 and has stayed on since.  He enjoys working at the practice with the great team and colleagues that are there, and the stable patient base he has developed over the years.  He takes an interest in all aspects of general dentistry and has taken further training in cosmetic composite fillings and is a qualified Invisalign Go provider.  Outside of work in his spare time he enjoys as much time with his family as possible, as well as getting out for running or walks in the local Peak District, and playing classical piano.

Priyadarshan (or Gaity) pursued a 3-year specialisation in oral surgery and holds a Master’s Degree, MDS in Oral Surgery, from the University of Bombay prior to obtaining a Fellowship in Dental Surgery, FDS RCS, from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He spent invaluable years as a NHS Hospital Dentist working mainly in the Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery Departments in Cardiff, Plymouth, Royal London, and Mount Vernon Hospitals, building further on his surgical dentistry skills before moving into general dental practice whilst always maintaining his special interest in oral surgery.

He further undertook a certificate course in 2004 in implant dentistry training at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and has since treated hundreds of patients and placed hundreds of implants till date. He also provides surgical implant placements for fellow dentists at external dental practices. Gaity is committed to advancing his skills on an on-going basis and attends national and international meetings for this to provide cutting-edge dentistry.

About: Sam graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2011 and has worked in and around Sheffield since then. He has always had an interest in endodontics and is currently studying towards an MSc in Endodontology. He accepts referrals for moderately complex root canal treatment and re-treatment. When he is not working, he is kept busy by his two young daughters.

Dr. Madiha enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, surgical extractions, and implants. Dr. Madiha keeps up to date with the latest procedures, and she has attended many postgraduate courses around the country, learning from renowned dentists in their field. She is a hugely passionate clinician and invests a lot of time bonding with her patients, educating and guiding them on how to maintain a good standard of oral health to prevent future problems. Dr. Madiha is a calm, hard-working, and confident individual who understands that patient satisfaction is at the forefront of her work. When she is not in the surgery, she enjoys spending quality time with her son.

Gemma is a longstanding, dedicated associate dentist with 16 years of invaluable experience at the practice. She holds a bachelor's degree in Dental surgery, having qualified at the University of Sheffield in 2008. She is strongly committed to delivering a broad range of high-quality dental care to the local and wider community, optimising oral health and adopting a holistic approach towards patient care.

In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her children, walking and going to the theatre.

Joanna started her journey in dentistry 27 years ago firstly qualifying as a Dental Nurse here at Hurlfield Dental Practice. She went on to graduate with a Higher Education Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy from the University of Sheffield. She has also trained in all aspects of Facial Aesthetics including Botulinum Toxins, Dermal Fillers and Skin Boosters. She has gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Aesthetics (Level 7).

Eve recently qualified at the University of Leeds and is with us at Hurlfield Dental Practice for her foundation year. Eve really enjoys interacting with patients and working alongside all the rest of the team. In her spare time, Eve enjoys meeting with family and friends, going to the gym, and dancing!
