Dr Andrew Sidebottom has completed higher specialist training (CCST) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and gained the gold medal for the exit FRCS. Having both dental and medical degrees and dual fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons, Andrew is registered on the GDC Specialist List for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and also Oral Surgery.

During his career as a consultant, he has developed a practice which specialises in TMJ pain management and Facial Deformity and has a large tertiary referral practice in this area. Andrew is also the NICE and NHS England adviser for TMJ replacement, BAOMS Clinical Lead for TMJ and associate editor of BJOMS.

He joined The Smile Centre team in 2009 and is a provider of the local IMOS referral service for Nottingham and also as a surgical provider of Dental Implants.

Andrew is fully conversant with primary placement of dental implants and provision of pre-prosthetic bone surgery to both augment the ridge and fill the facial sinuses using autogenous and artificial bone. With his vast experience he is happy to provide both a supportive surgery role in provision of adequate bone foundation or to place the implants with the dental practitioner providing the restorative solution

Mr Ikegwuani completed him specialist training in oral surgery at the Cork University Hospital and Limerick University Hospital. He was awarded a Doctorate in Oral Surgery following the completion of 3 years clinical and research doctorate course – Thesis on Bisphosphonate related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw.

He is on the Oral Surgery Specialist List of The GDC in both the UK and Ireland. He has expertise in surgical treatment of disorders of the teeth, mouth and jaw including surgical removal, of buried teeth and impacted wisdom teeth, including treatment of jaw cyst, apicectomy, pre-prosthetic surgery, management of soft and hard tissue pathologies of the oral cavity, TMJ and facial pain management.

Sorin graduated as a Dental Medical Doctor in 1995 and has been practicing general dentistry since. He relocated to the UK in 2007 and is working within Rodericks as a General Dental Practitioner.

Sorin started the MSc Endodontology postgraduate course with the University of Chester in October 2014 and graduated in December 2017

He has been taking private microscope endodontic referrals since August 2014, along with general dentistry and therefore understands very well the endodontic problems that general dentists are facing in NHS practices.

At The Smile Centre, his activity is limited to Endodontics
