Alex is one of the senior dentists at Apple and has been working here since 2004. He has a wealth of experience with enhanced skills in Sedation, Dental Implants and Oral Surgery.  He accepts new referrals for all forms of Advanced Dentistry including Dental Implants and Minor Oral Surgery (Dental Extractions). For any anxious new patients, he offers sedation. Conscious sedation in dentistry enables patients to undergo any daunting procedure painlessly and completely unaware of the procedure being provided. Alex has provided sedation for almost 25 years in hospital and dental practice and has an excellent patient satisfaction record. 

Many new patients are apprehensive when it comes to dental treatment, particularly if they haven't been to the dentist for several years. Alex accepts all new patients and his gentle, reassuring approach instils confidence in his patients. 

In addition to his own registered patients, Alex has accepted over 5000 referrals from other dentists over the last 15 years for all forms of treatment with or without sedation. 

Alex qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1998 and was awarded a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Commendation. His professional career commenced in Cornwall where he received further training as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Facial Surgery. This culminated in the Membership Examination for the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.  

He has a particular interest in helping patients overcome any anxiety with the aid of sedation and has completed the Diploma in Conscious Sedation at Newcastle University.

In 2006 Alex left a long-term position as a Staff Grade Oral Surgeon in Hospital to concentrate solely on Dental Practice. He was one of the first Dentists in the South West to undertake and be awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons and has been placing Dental Implants at Apple for over 15 years.

In recognition of his high clinical and professional standards, Alex was made a Fellow by the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2017. He was also made a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry in 2022.

He is a member of The International Team for Implantology (ITI), The Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD) and the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS). His gentle, relaxed manner and unhurried approach inspire confidence in his patients and reassure them during treatment.

Sarah graduated from the University of Bristol as the best graduating student of her year in 1998 having been awarded the Gold medal and qualifying with honours. She completed the Diploma of Post Graduate Dental Studies a few years later, covering postgraduate training in endodontics (root canal treatment), prosthetics (dentures) and paediatrics (children’s dentistry). Sarah was a vocational trainer, training new dentists in Bristol for thirteen years and was also the Bristol Dental Association rep for the region for a time. Sarah was a co-owner and ran the practice from 2003 to 2020. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly composite bonding. She likes to be cheerful but calming with her patients, many of whom have been with her for 26 years.

Sarah has four boys and is married to Alex who works in the practice. In her ‘limited’ spare time she enjoys time with friends and family.

Sena is a patient-orientated and experienced dentist offering 13 years of experience in high-volume dental hospitals and practices. She is very passionate about dentistry and self-development and always strive to learn more about new materials and techniques. She holds a bachelor’s degree in dentistry and PhD degree in Prosthodontics.

She works as a general dental practitioner and her focus is restorative, preventive and minimal invasive dentistry. She performs composite and amalgam fillings, crowns, bridges, complete and partial dentures, laminate veneers, inlay, onlay restorations, occlusal splints, tooth extractions, root canal treatments and non-surgical periodontal therapies. She particularly enjoys working with geriatric patients and providing them with dentures they can comfortably wear.

Sena’s compassionate approach and expertise in dentistry make her invaluable to our practice. Her focus is understanding patients’ needs and feelings with an empathic approach, providing comprehensive education to treat and prevent oral disease, maintaining dental health, and preventing disease.

In her leisure time, she enjoys going to the gym, travelling and reading the latest dental literature.

Wendy graduated from the University of Oxford in 2003 and entered the management development program for a multinational insurance company.  After 5 years, she realised that an office job was not for her and decided to take a break by travelling around the world.  During these travels, she worked in a dental surgery in Australia where she found a passion for dentistry.

Wendy returned to further education and completed her BDS qualification at the University of Bristol.  She graduated in 2018 as the top student in her year winning 10 individual awards as well as the overall Gold Medal.  Wendy has also published an article on posture in the British Dental Journal.

In her spare time, Wendy enjoys yoga and weekends away in her caravan.  She has two daughters with her partner and enjoys spending time with her family. 

Wendy works at the Wellington Road and Abbotswood practices.

Claire graduated from the University of Bristol where she was awarded the GSK prize for demonstrating excellent ability in her clinical research project. Claire has a gentle, empathetic approach and enjoys caring for all her patients with an emphasis on preventative dentistry.

She is passionate about oral health and treating people from all walks of life and has a keen interest in treating anxious patients.

Outside of work Claire enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling and running.
