Meet our Team at Wentwood House Dental Practice

Jake qualified from the University of Bristol in 2021 to return to Monmouth, where he studied as a boy and first decided to become a dentist after shadowing a specialist there. Since qualifying, Jake has enjoyed treating all patients and providing a vast range of general dental care. He was soon offered a job to provide routine private dental care in Gloucester and another covering the county for any dental emergencies. Jake joined the team at Wentwood House in September 2023 and works diligently to provide the highest quality of dental care. Jake continues to study; having already completed several shorter advanced training courses, Jake is now studying part time to achieve a postgraduate diploma in aesthetic restorative dentistry. Jake believes it is vital for people to be confident in their appearance; always underpinned by healthy, predictable, long-lasting, and minimally invasive treatments, Jake enjoys playing his role in that journey. Jake also has an interest in facial aesthetics; he is qualified to provide Botox and dermal fillers to treat signs of ageing or other insecurities.

Outside of dentistry, Jake enjoys keeping fit. He has five working cocker spaniels and is a competitive skydiver. He has also recently started sailing.

Dr. Jennifer Attenborough BDS MJDF RCS (Eng) Jen qualified from the University of Central Lancashine (Lpool) in 2013.

Jen enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. Building long-term patient relationships and trust enhances her job satisfaction. Prevention of dental diseases and patients maintaining the best oral health is paramount in Jens treatment planning. She has recently attended a conference on the impact of the oral microbiome on general health. Jen is a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery. She is interested in providing minimally invasive dentistry, completing courses in composite bonding, and becoming an Invisalign provider.

Jen is starting a diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry next year. Jen has achieved certification in advanced botox and dermal filler courses and has become experienced in facial aesthetics. She enjoys providing treatments that build patients confidence by reducing wrinkles and replacing volume lost due to the ageing process. Jens aim is to provide subtle treatments that give a natural appearance. Jen also provides botox treatment to help relieve facial pain caused by teeth grinding and clenching habits. Jen is currently offering a free 15-minute consultation if you would like to discuss Invisalign or facial Aesthetics.

Lisa has been working in Warwickshire since having a family. She decided to upskill by studying for a Masters Degree at Birmingham and thoroughly enjoyed the course and meeting like-minded colleagues who were interested in high quality, minimally invasive dentistry.

Lisa also works as an Educational Supervisor, mentoring newly qualified dentists. Watching and supporting young dentists progress from a safe beginner to an independent practitioner is a particularly rewarding part of her career.

Lisa has good communication skills and enjoys all aspects of dentistry, helping all her patients maintain and enhance a healthy smile.

Having joined the practice in October 2024, she is looking forward to meeting patients from Winchcombe and the surrounding area.

Away from dentistry, Lisa is learning German and plays pickleball.

BDS, MFDS(RCS Ed), MSc Clinical Implantology, Dip Imp Dent (RCS Ed)

Ali completed his BDS from the University of Liverpool in 2016. Soon after, he was also awarded the MFDS diploma from the prestigious RCS Edinburgh.

His interest in Dental Implants has led him to complete the two-year MSc degree in Clinical Implantology from the University of Central Lancashire which he was awarded a merit for in 2020. To further his knowledge in this ever-evolving field he is an active member of the International Team of Implantology and Association of Dental Implantology and regularly attends courses to further develop his knowledge.

Ali also recently passed the Diploma in Implant Dentistry Examination held by the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Ali now works as an Implant Dentist in multiple practices providing fixed long-term solutions for patients and prides himself in his strong patient-centred approach. It is this very ethos that has also led him to undergo sedation training which he is currently in the process of completing. This will equip him with the skills to manage even the most anxious of patients in the dental chair!

Outside of dentistry Ali thoroughly enjoys videography and travelling. He has a large collection of gadgets which he enjoys using to capture beautiful landscape videos, particularly whilst exploring new destinations and cultures abroad.

Agnes qualified in 1987 from Cardiff Dental Hospital. She joined the Wentwood family in 2010.

She relishes the sheer variety of patients we see, all of whom can benefit from her gentle approach. Agnes approaches every client as an individual with feelings, not just a mouth to treat.

She has two grown-up sons, one of whom is serving in the Royal Navy.

When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time walking her two dogs or in the garden. As well as time enjoying the seaside.

Since moving from Wales to Gloucester, Kate has continued to work as a clinical hygienist at Cardiff University. Here Kate treats patients with a complex medical history, dental phobia, special care, head and neck cancer, and complex periodontal treatment. Kate also works locally as a hygienist/therapist.

Kate prides herself on providing treatment that is relaxed, gentle, and reassuring to even the most nervous of patients, as well as being informative and thorough. To develop her existing knowledge and provide the best possible treatment to her patients, she regularly attends courses and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Kate has completed training in guided biofilm treatment, tooth whitening, periodontal treatment, implant maintenance, facial aesthetics, skin care, and Reiki.

When not at work, Kate loves exploring the local area with her partner Scott and their two rescue dogs, Mile and Max, who you will probably hear about in your appointments. Kate is now a big Gloucester Rugby supporter and spends many a weekend watching the men and women rugby teams.

I started my dental nursing in January 2021 in the middle of COVID-19. I spent many years not knowing what I wanted to do career-wise but soon realized after working in an office job I needed something more practical and interactive. I’ve always had an interest in working in healthcare, and as soon as I came across dentistry, I knew it was for me. I am now a fully qualified dental nurse looking to progress in the future but yet to decide which path this will lead me down.

I started dental nursing when I was 17; I’m now 54! I have an NEBDN in dental nursing. I have been working on reception for the last 4 years. I enjoy the interaction with the patients and my work colleagues. I have two children, aged 21 and 26. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and taking my dog for gorgeous countryside walks. Wentwood House is a lovely place to work, and the people I work with and the patients make it a very happy place to be.

I have been working here for almost 2 years, and this practice became my second family. I am like an odd middle child in our practice, and I love learning about dentistry, so if you come to visit us, you will hear me whispering behind you; it’s just me trying to remember everything that I’ve learned! Rest assured, you will love Wentwood House like I do.

I started dental nursing in August 2024. I really enjoy working at Wentwood House; everyone on the team is very welcoming and approachable and has made my start here very easy. I particularly enjoy meeting and chatting with patients on a daily basis. I am looking forward to starting my national diploma in the new year.
