Benefits of Cosmetic Facial Treatments

Facial aesthetic treatments can boost your confidence to give you skin that you’re happier with

Some treatments can make your skin healthier in a variety of ways, like removing dead cells and improving appearance

Facial aesthetics can give you a more youthful look by improving factors like excess skin and wrinkles

The Cosmetic Facial Aesthetic Process

Each process will be different depending on your specific treatment, but here is an overview.

    1

    Initial Consultation and Assessment

You’ll start with an initial consultation with a qualified professional. In this session, you’ll be able to explain what you would like treatment for and what results you want. They’ll then be able to discuss what facial aesthetic treatments are available. You’ll be able to raise any concerns or questions you have.

    2

    Tailored Treatment Plan

Once you’ve chosen the treatment you’re happy with, your practitioner will put together a treatment plan. This will be personalised to help meet your needs.

    3

    Treatment and Aftercare Guidance

Your chosen treatment will then go ahead. Some facial aesthetic treatments will require you to attend further appointments in the future. After your appointments, you’ll be given any instructions and guidance needed for aftercare. You’ll be asked to attend a follow-up appointment to ensure that everything is going smoothly.

Types of Cosmetic Facial Aesthetic Treatments

There’s a whole range of treatments to choose from.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Also commonly known as Botox, these injections reduce wrinkles by temporarily freezing your facial muscles. This means wrinkles and lines are reduced, softened and sometimes removed. It can fix problems like bunny lines on your nose, wrinkles around your eyes, frown lines on your forehead, top lip lines and more. This type of facial aesthetics is straightforward, completed in a short amount of time and relatively painless.

Dermal Fillers

Getting dermal fillers involves injecting a medical grade gel-like substance under your skin. There are many reasons why someone might choose this facial aesthetic treatment. For example, it can treat sagging skin to make it look softer and fuller, plump your lips and cheeks, smooth creases in your face and more. Like Botox, this treatment is quick and virtually pain-free.

Lip Enhancements

Commonly known as lip fillers, this type of facial aesthetics treatment increases the volume of thin lips. Hyaluronic acid is used to do this which naturally occurs in your body. You may decide to get this treatment to restore your original lip size if your lips have gotten thinner over time. Many people get lip enhancements to help boost their confidence if they’re unhappy with the size and shape of their lips. This solution can also smooth any wrinkles around your lips for a softer appearance.

Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

This is a term that covers a range of facial aesthetic treatments designed to improve the appearance and health of your skin. This includes chemical peels which remove your skin's top layer so it grows back smoother. This can reduce acne, scars, wrinkles, uneven skin colouring and more.

Laser resurfacing can also be used to improve the appearance of your skin, and there are two different types. Ablative laser resurfacing removes the top layer of your skin. This encourages collagen fibres to form, which means smoother, tighter and less wrinkled skin should grow. Non-ablative laser resurfacing also encourages collagen to form for smoother and tighter skin, but doesn’t remove the top layer of your skin. There are many more options to explore, and speaking to a professional can help you determine what’s available.

Post-Treatment Care Tips

Your practitioner will give you specific care tips to help maintain the results of your treatment. This will depend on the type of treatment you have, but it’s important to follow these closely. One important thing you should always do is avoid applying pressure to the treated area. This can disrupt the overall process and hinder results.

Frequency of Touch-Up Appointments

This will depend on the type of facial aesthetic treatment you have. For anti-wrinkle injections, it’s recommended to have a touch-up appointment every 3 to 4 months. For dermal fillers, a touch-up appointment every 6 to 12 months maybe a suitable timeframe. Your practitioner will be able to tell you what timeframe they think is best.

Protecting and Enhancing Your Skin

It’s important to keep your skin moisturised to stop dryness and irritation. Apply a gentle moisturiser very carefully to the treated area. Drinking plenty of water can reduce any swelling and help your skin to heal.
