How it works

This straightforward and painless procedure is beneficial to give your child a healthy smile.

    1

    Application

Fluoride application involves professionally painting a thin layer of varnish onto the surfaces of teeth.

    2

    Adhesion

A protective coating is formed as the fluoride paste adheres to the enamel.

    3

    Release of fluoride ions

Over time, fluoride ions are released gradually from the varnish into the tooth structure helping to strengthen the enamel.

    4

    Remineralisation

Fluoride helps to improve remineralisation to repair signs of decay and strengthen weak teeth.

    5

    Cavity prevention and reapplication

Visit your local practice regularly to reapply fluoride coating on the teeth to prevent cavities and maintain your oral health.
