Fluoride varnish benefits

Early intervention

Proactively protects children’s first milk teeth, creating a shield against decay from the start.

Cavity prevention

Remineralizes weakened enamel, making teeth resistant to acidic foods and bacteria.

Quick and painless application

The application is a quick, simple, painless procedure, involving the gentle application of fruity gel.

What is Fluoride varnish?

Fluoride is vital for your child's oral health. Not enough leads to cavities, and too much can cause fluorosis (chalky spots on enamel). We determine the right fluoride dosage. This quick, simple procedure uses a fruity-tasting gel for your child's teeth. This subtly colours teeth for three days.

The fluoride aids remineralization, fortifying teeth against acid. It's present in tap water, various foods, and dental products like toothpaste and mouthwash. Our fluoride varnish ensures optimal dental benefits alongside healthy diet and oral hygiene.

How it works

1

Application.

A thin layer of fluoride varnish is professionally painted onto the surfaces of the teeth.

2

Adhesion.

The varnish adheres to the enamel, forming a protective coating.

3

Release of fluoride ions.

Over time, fluoride ions are gradually released from the varnish into the tooth structure.

4

Remineralization.

Fluoride enhances remineralization, strengthening weak teeth and repairing signs of decay.

5

Cavity prevention and reapplication.

Revisit for reapplication to prevent cavities and contribute to overall oral health.

FAQs

How often should fluoride varnish be applied?

Apply fluoride varnish every 3 months. Studies indicate lower cavity rates in children receiving regular applications, compared to infrequent or no applications.

Is fluoride varnish safe?

Fluoride varnish is safe even for babies with their first tooth. Only a small amount of varnish is painted onto teeth, so next to no fluoride is ingested.

Do I need to do anything special after my child has fluoride varnish?

Your child can eat and drink immediately. But opt for soft, non-crunchy foods, and delay brushing and flossing until the next morning.

Will fluoride varnish make my teeth look different?

The gel temporarily colours the teeth for up to three days, before it gradually wears off, leaving protected, white teeth.
